Jacquelyn Meyers Obituary
Jacquelyn "Jackie" Tate Meyers, age 89, joined the church triumphant on October 1, 2025. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William "Bill" I. Meyers, IV in 2014 after over 57 years of marriage and her brother, John A. Tate, II. She is survived by her children, Susan Hicks (Anthony), William Allan Meyers (Anita) and Janice Hume; her grandchildren, Stephanie Hicks Broaddus (Bates), James Hume (Renee), Carrie Meyers Hewes (Brian), Christopher Hicks (Shawn), Luke Meyers (Magen), Jennifer Hume and Kristen Meyers Jamerson (Douglas); 16 great-grandchildren : Silas and Samuel Broaddus, Adelyn and Camryn Hicks, Kalei Meyers, Cole and Hannah Hewes, Reese, Liam, and Claire Meyers, Blake and Hailey Jamerson, Taylor, Easton, Brooks and Meredith Hume, her sister Dr. Judith Tate Wagner (Richard Contreras) of Los Angeles, CA.
Jackie was born in Richmond, and grew up in Barton Heights and Ginter Park. She attended Thomas Jefferson High School, where she and Bill became sweethearts, and Westhampton College. Most of her business career was in the accounting field. Jackie was the Accounting Supervisor and Internal Auditor for Heritage Savings & Loan, then worked in the family office supply business and retired in 2005 from Marva Marble after 14 years employment. She was a long time member of Tuckahoe Presbyterian Church. For many years she was a member of the Chancel Choir, served as a Deacon and on many committees.
Jackie joined Richmond Country Club in 1980 where she was very active in the Women's Golf Association, including serving as Co-Chairman of the Association, and enjoyed playing golf and socializing with her many friends there. She was also a former member of City Women's Golf Association (CWGA) and Richmond Women's Golf Association (RWGA).
She dearly loved her family and the joy of her life was spending time with them. She also truly enjoyed being with her church and golfing friends.
The family would like to express their appreciation for the wonderful care and attention she received from the Lakeside Senior Assisted Living facility and Ascend Hospice Care.
A Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Tuckahoe Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Jackie's memory to Tuckahoe Presbyterian Church.
