James Francis Walsh, Jr.
August 28, 1949 - November 12, 2025
James (Jim) Francis Walsh Jr, born August 28, 1949, in Easton, PA, passed away on November 12, 2025, at age 76.
He leaves behind a legacy defined by love for his family, a passion for helping others, a competitive spirit, and quick-witted humor. Jim also enjoyed watching and playing sports, music and traveling.
Jim's early years were spent with his parents, James Sr and Jean, and brothers Bill and Tom moving around the United States and England, before landing in Cinnaminson, NJ. In Cinnaminson he met the love of his life, Teresa, and they were happily married for over 54 years.
His tales of sports exploits and escapades with his brothers and friends were never ending. A member of the football, baseball, and wrestling teams at Cinnaminson High School, he was inducted into their sports Hall of Fame.
He graduated from Rutgers University in 1971, where he played light-weight football. Jim spent the next 25 years working at General Electric in the finance department. Upon leaving GE, he spent the rest of his career as a chief financial officer helping transportation leasing companies achieve their goals.
He was happiest watching and cheering on his kids, grandchildren and family in their sporting events and life pursuits while always offering encouragement. Rooting for the Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies and Rutgers sports were also passions. Jim loved golf and looked forward to weekly games with friends. He meticulously kept track of states and countries he visited and looked forward to planning the next adventure.
Ever the competitor, he always played the cards he was dealt to the best of his ability and with a positive, can-win attitude. Diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes early in life, it did not slow him down and when it later impacted his health, Jim would not let anything stop him from enjoying family vacations, attending games, or doing anything else he loved.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Teresa; his children, Russ (Michelle), Ryan, and Jamie; four grandchildren, Olivia, Dillan, Jameson and Aaron; brother, Tom (Debbie); and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Jean and Jim Walsh, and brother, Bill (Mary).
A gathering of family and friends will occur at Bliley's Central funeral home in Richmond, VA between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 18. A lunch and celebration of life will follow from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at Hermitage Country Club.
An additional life celebration will occur in New Jersey on a later date.
