JEAN DENNIS LARUS

LARUS, Jean Dennis, was born on September 27, 1927 in Richmond, Virginia and passed away on March 23, 2013. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leila and Erle Smith; her son, Charles Dennis; a sister, two brothers, and her husbands, Benjamin Dennis III and John B. Larus Sr. Mrs. Larus was a member of the Richmond Women's Golf Association, The Country Club of Virginia, where she was the 1970 Women's Golf Champion, the Tuckahoe Woman's Club and the Windsor Farms Garden Club. She is survived by her children and stepchildren, Benjamin Dennis IV, David Dennis, Deborah Dennis, Thomas Larus (Liz), Gavin Larus Anderson (John), and John Larus Jr. (Lourdes); grandchildren, Melissa Baker, Benjamin Holland, Jessica Dennis, Thomas Larus Jr., John Paul Larus, Christina Larus, Matthew Larus, Preston Costantino (Allison) and Gabriella Larus and four great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, March 30 in Hollywood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. James's Episcopal Church, or a favorite charity.
