Dear Janet, Preston, and Sandy,
So many good memories, it's hard to find the words to express how we feel. From the '60s DSF wrestling, to our kids in the youth league, to supporting in their challenges, Judith and I have enjoyed doing some of the same together with you. Each life is a miracle that changes the world...and leaves it a better place than it was before. John did exactly that. May God comfort you always.

I am so very sorry to hear of your loss. I had the privilege of meeting John many years ago as he and my father, Bob Diehl, worked at the TD together. I had also met his father. What a terrific and talented family. Your family will be in my prayers.

Dear Janet, Sandy and Preston,

We are so sorry to hear about the loss of your husband/father. It seems like just yesterday he was taping the wrestling matches at DSF. He provided us with a tape of the entire season of our son, Justin George's matches ... that was priceless. I'll never forget that - how thoughtful.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

It was great pleasure working with John at The Times-Dispatch.
He was a kind and genial soul who always had a nice word to say to everyone and a ready laugh --particularly for the ridiculous.
My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

John was a talented, spirited, kind, and devoted person. Our cousin-ship was a fun part of my growing up years as well as my adult years. Just recently, we wrote each other on a simultaneous live chat on FACEBOOK, at 2 a.m. I wish his life could have been much longer, but I remind myself that it is about quality and not quantity. May he find all the joys and triumphs of eternal life, and may all of his family find the peace which passeth all understanding
