Joseph Burnett Obituary

BURNETT, Joseph Allen "Joey", beloved father, husband, son, brother and friend, died on August 15, 2021, at the age of 51. He is survived by his parents, Orie Allen Burnett and Phyllis O'Neil Burnett; his wife, Brandy Johann Flournoy Burnett; his beautiful, brilliant and kind children, Molly Quinn Burnett and Leo Orie Burnett; his brother, Jonathan O'Neil Burnett; his nephew, Alistair O'Neil Burnett; his aunts, Dorothy O'Neil Tinsley, Audrey O'Neil McNutt and Glenda Burnett Boschen; his uncles, Dr. Joseph O'Neil, Norman T. Burnett and Boyd C. Burnett; and many cousins. Joey graduated from Mills E. Godwin High School in 1987, then received a bachelor's degree from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia in 1991, followed by a law degree from the T. C. Williams School of Law at the University of Richmond in 1995. "A great man is one who leaves others at a loss when he is gone." A graveside service is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 21, at Westhampton Memorial Park, 10000 Patterson Avenue.
