Joseph Paschal Obituary

PASCHAL, Joseph E., passed away July 20, 2023 at the age of 87. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Grace Paschal of Anniston, Alabama; and his wonderful wife of 54 years, Evelyn. He is survived by his loving daughter, Sherrie; and son-in-law, Baird Beasley. He served three years in Germany with the Army Security Agency, and retired from Defense General Supply Center after 34 years of Federal service. He loved sports and was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide Football fan. Joseph was a long time member of Chester Baptist Church and will be interred there at a later date.

Joe was my not only my neighbor when I was a kid growing up, but a great friend and was as close a grandfather as I ever had. He taught me the hook shot in basketball, scared me with fake snakes, and was always willing to sit down and have a talk and popsicle with me, when most neighbors would tell a young kid to go back home. I have many fond memories of him, and wish I had the chance to tell him how much I appreciated his kindness. Especially when I grew up and realized you only get neighbors like Joe and Evelyn once in a lifetime. Sherrie, I hope this message finds you, and brings you a bit of happiness in a difficult time, I´m sad to find out about his passing, but am happy he and Evelyn are reunited.

Happy Birthday Joe, the stories I have of you will live on forever!
