ALEXANDER, Katherine Alexander, 90, passed away peacefully in her home at Lenbrook, in Atlanta, Ga., on Saturday, May 15, 2021 with her family by her side. Katherine was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Alexander Alexander. The second to the youngest of nine children, she is the last of her siblings to pass at the age of 90. Katherine is survived by her children, Stacy Alexander Albanese and her husband, Ron Albanese of McLean, Va.; and her son, Steven Thomas Alexander Sr. and his wife, Martha Francis Alexander of Atlanta, Ga.; and her cherished grandchildren, Thomas and Katherine Alexander and Samantha Stacey. Katherine graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Richmond, Va. and helped her husband start his first company, Alexander Building Construction, Inc. in 1961.
A gracious, reserved lady, Katherine found her children and grandchildren her biggest source of pride. She enjoyed tennis and traveling the world with her husband and family. The annual family beach trip to Litchfield, S.C. was her special time. The family finds comfort that Katherine has been reunited with Alex, where he can be found on the tennis court and Katherine can be found making dinner reservations.
The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 26 at Bliley's–Central, 3801 Augusta Ave., Richmond, Va. 23230, where a Trisagion Prayer Service will be held at 7 p.m. A graveside service will be held 11:30 a.m. Thursday, May 27 at Hollywood Cemetery, 412 South Cherry Street, Richmond, Va. 23220.
