It's weird to remember now that I'm, but I remember from youth years that when church services were over, I would go back to the back of the church to see the Mr & Mrs Hixon because they were wonderful, friendly, genuine people (and because Mr Hixon would crack my neck :). Mrs Hixon - you are in my thoughts and prayers, and although words may seem little comfort right now, I hope that God's peace helps to fill that void like nothing else can. Melinda, Bryan, and Kenny - I can't pretend to understand your loss, but pray that you guys can be strong in support of each other and your mom right now. My prayers are with all of you.

To the Hixson family,
I have worked with Ken for the last 10 years and spent time with him on his many successful road show trips for AMF. Ken was always an upbeat smiling face when things were stressful and always set the pace on working hard. He will be greatly and sorely missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time.

Dear Barbara, Melinda, Bryan, Kenny and family, I am deeply sorry to hear of Ken's passing. I fondly recall all the many times Ken and I worked together, all over the world. He was a great colleague, proud father, loving husband, and outstanding engineer. I am travelling and unable to attend the gathering on Wednesday so I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

You have our family's deepest sympathy. Our son "Tommy" spent many days and nights with your family. He always enjoyed joking with Ken. Ken always made Tommy feel welcomed. Thank you for sharing this precious soul with us.

I worked directly with Ken some time ago and indirectly for a few years now. For several years, I've sent him an email on November 10th wishing him a Happy Birthday not because that was his actual birthday, but because he and I are both former Marines and November 10th is the birthday of the Corps. I have always considered him a "Brother" as I do all my friends that served in the Corps and he will be missed. My life is richer having known him, even for this little amount of time. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Barbara and family,
I worked with Ken at AMF for 5 years, and Kenny may still have my dog, Blue. Since leaving AMF, I have often thought of the many things I learned from Ken while working with him on HPL production and installation. He taught me how to install a lane on site in North Carolina and I will never forget the experience of watching him work with a crew of people! Ken's patience and thoughtfulness was a gift to many people. He has always been a treasure in my heart and I know that you will miss him deeply.
Blessings to all of you; please know that you are all in my prayers.

I only knew Ken for about 4 years but in that time, I learned quite a bit from him- he was a wealth of knowledge. I am sure he will be sorely missed by those who worked with him at AMF and all who knew him.
