Kenneth Tyree Obituary

Kenneth R. Tyree "Ken", 60, of Sandston, originally of Nelson County, went to be with the Lord Thursday, January 8, 2004. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Dawn W. Tyree; sons, Robert M. Tyree "Mac" and Kenneth Lee Tyree and his close friend, Tracey Marie Stine; one sister, Phyllis Hudson and her husband, Carroll of Pinehurst, N.C.; other devoted family and friends. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam, was a manager with Southland Corporation and Pepsico, was a member of Shalom Baptist Church of Mechanicsville, and was an avid sports enthusiast. He was a loving husband, father, and friend to all who knew him. The family will receive friends at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and where funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday. Interment Washington Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to the building fund at Shalom Baptist Church and/or the American Lung Association.
