Linda Sydnor Obituary
May 25, 1944 - August 6, 2025
Linda Sheffield Hollomon Sydnor, passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at the age of 81.
Linda was predeceased by her parents, Iva Crenshaw Cole Hollomon and Edward Forrest Hollomon, and her beloved husband, William Dunnington Sydnor. She is survived by her loving daughter, Kathryn Sheffield Sydnor Witt, her son-in-law, Walter Francis Witt III, and her cherished grandson, William Mason Witt.
Linda was born in Arlington, Va., then later moved to Blackstone, Va. She was a proud alumna of Longwood University, where she was a member of the Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority. After graduating, Linda dedicated many years to teaching history at Tuckahoe Middle School.
Linda was a member of the Jamestowne Society, The National Society of the Colonial Dames of America, and The Tuckahoe Woman's Club. She also previously served on the board of the Valentine Museum.
A memorial visitation will be held in Linda's memory at Bliley's Funeral Home, located at 3801 Augusta Avenue, Richmond, Va., on Friday, August 15th, from 4 to 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Linda's memory to St. Christopher's School, 711 St. Christopher's Road, Richmond, VA 23226.

Field, I am so sorry for your loss. I will always remember meeting your mother at Longwood, she was a year ahead of me and at the time I thought she was the "coolest" girl! Little did I know she would be a neighbor, friend, and coworker at TMS. Blessings to you and your family.
