Lisa Phillips Obituary

Lisa Diane Phillips

June 16, 1959 - August 3, 2024

Lisa Diane Phillips, 65, of Mechanicsville, went to be with the Lord on Saturday August 3, 2024, after fighting a courageous battle with Myelofibrosis.

Born in Richmond, VA, on June 16, 1959, Lisa was a graduate of Lee Davis High School. She dedicated many years to the hospitality industry, most recently serving as the Business and Leisure Travel Sales Manager at The Jefferson Hotel.

Lisa was a loving daughter, partner, sister, aunt, and friend and will be dearly missed. She is survived by her parents, Alfred and Peggy Phillips; sister, Pam Snider (Reid); brother, Chip Phillips; three nieces, Elizabeth Wood (Joe) and son, Isley, Kristen Snider (Sarah), Laura Phillips and daughter, Mackenzie; two nephews, CJ Phillips (Shannon) and son, Bennett, and Zachary Snider; her devoted partner of 33 years, Ron Salmon and his children, Kristopher Salmon (Dana) and daughter, Katelynn, Heather Kerns and son, Hayden; as well as lifelong friends, Donna Sinnery, Dee Dee Foran, and Laura Fabrizio.

Lisa will be remembered for her tenacious and caring spirit, her love for her family and friends, and her dedication to volunteering particularly with the Make-A-Wish Foundation. She had a song for every situation, bringing joy and laughter, which made even the simplest moments enjoyable. Lisa faced life's challenges with optimism and never gave up, always loving "her people," as she affectionately called her friends and family.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the dedicated doctors, nurses and staff at VCU Medical Center, who provided compassionate care to Lisa since 2022. A special thanks to Dr. John McCarty and Dr. Kelly Hagan for their wonderful support to Lisa throughout her medical journey.

A visitation will be held at the Mechanicsville Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Road on Monday, August 12, from 6 to 8 p.m. When her health permitted, Lisa was a faithful member of Mechanicsville Baptist Church, where a service of remembrance will be held Tuesday, August 13, at 1 p.m. Interment will follow in Signal Hill Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to VCU Massey Cancer Center, The Leukemia And Lymphoma Society, or Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Lisa parent's & brother Chip- just found out about Lisa- I have been living in TN since 2020; I used to work with her during high school at Wright's Townhouse on brook rd- I believe she even provided quite a few rides to work before I obtained my first car- living in spring meadows then certainly helped. My condolences to you all, and may God provide the spiritual strength to help you all during this difficult time- v/r, Leonard Carter Jr.
