Louis Davis Obituary

DAVIS, Louis G. Jr., quietly passed away at age 92 in the early morning hours of March 10, 2024, at his home in Sandston, VA with his beloved wife of 67 years. He is survived by his wife Mary E. Davis, daughter Victoria Davis Walker, grandchildren Jacob Walker and Chelsea Walker, and many loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at: Saint John Catholic Church, 811 West Nine Mile Road Henrico, Virginia 23075 on Thursday, March 21st. Visitation will be at 8:30 AM at the church followed by a mass at 9 a.m. Private interment will be at Washington Memorial Park, 6217 Memorial Drive, Sandston, VA 23150.

Louie was preceded in death by his father Louis G. Davis Sr., his mother Eva George Davis, his brothers Joseph Davis and Walter Davis, and sisters Josephine Mann, Jennie Kouri and Della Dudley. Louie was a devout catholic and member of Saint John Catholic Church. He started his career at Davis Brother's Amoco with his two brothers. He then had a successful second career in residential real estate. He enjoyed woodworking and especially restoring clocks and worked in his Churchill community generously helping those less fortunate than himself. He served in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1954 and received the Army Occupation Medal (Germany), National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.

His very close friends for many decades, Joe J., and Gloria Murphy, were a wonderful support especially as his health declined in later years. The family would like to recognize and thank his niece, Evonne Kouri, for guiding the care necessary for Louie the last couple of years as well as the formal caregivers that lovingly attended to Louie as his health further declined. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Saint John's Catholic Church.

The Chezik Family wants to send you and your family condolences and prayers for Louie. We were saddened to hear of his death. He was always so kind and friendly to my family. We attended St Johns Church for many years when we lived in Sandston and that is where we would see Louie and his wife. My mother (Kathleen Mae Joseph Chezik) knew Walter Davis when she was much younger along with the rest of the family. May God bless you and your family, Lisa Chezik Camp, Lori Chezik, Van Chezik.
