Louis Heindl Obituary

Louis Armistead Heindl, Jr.

November 23, 1970 - September 11, 2025

HEINDL, Jr., Louis Armistead – It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce that Louis Jr. went to live with the angels and his beloved dogs on Thursday, September 11, 2025. Left to mourn his loss are his devoted parents, Virlinda and Louis Heindl, Sr.; his sisters, Cindy Garrett (Dave) and Carrie Harmon; his fiancé, Robin Mansfield; his nephews, Tyler Garrett (Shelley) and Dale Garrett; his nieces, Meghan and Ashlee Harmon; his great nephews, Peter Garrett and James Armistead Garrett; and his special friends, Wesley and Gerri Dolezal and Tim Dunn. He was a "Handyman Extraordinaire," and he could do most anything from building a home to barns. He was also very mechanically inclined and could work on everything from mowers to heavy equipment, and even his mud-bog truck. He spent all his life enjoying being on the river, enjoying fishing, crabbing, and spending time on his boat with Robin and his new puppy, Roscoe. Louis grew up in Mechanicsville and graduated from Lee-Davis High School. He was on the swim team at Burkwood Swim and Racquet Club. He played Blue Star football and was the #1 BMX rider in Virginia at 16 years old. He also enjoyed being a member of the Mechanicsville Mudder's.

He spent the last ten years on his farm in King William County as a "Gentleman farmer." He was a Godsend to his parents and family, especially over the last eight years. His memory will be cherished by all who had the pleasure of knowing him, especially his beloved Robin, as they were to be married in October.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 7 p.m., on Friday, September 19, 2025, at Monaghan Funeral Home, 7300 Creighton Parkway, Mechanicsville, VA 23111.

To the Heindl Family: Louis, Virlinda, Cindy and Carrie - it has been decades since I knew Louie, but I am deeply saddened by his passing. I have thought of him so often and regret that our paths never crossed again after we left Hanover Academy. We were so close during those formative years, and I cherish the innocence of that time. May you find comfort and solace in the wonderful memories you´ve shared with Louie, especially during the most recent years. Sending you all love and light during this most difficult time in your lives. Love, Donna

Virlinda and Louis....my heart hurts for you both. Throughout the years (decades!) we have been a small part of your amazing family and wish we could make this time better for you but......... Please let us know if we can do anything for you all. May God and his angels surround you at this time (I tried to think of an adjective to put in front of the word "time" but there really are no words.. I will be praying for you all. With love for you both, Toni
