Dr. Kurup was an amazing surgeon. I think about him often and about the surgery he preformed on me. It was Feb. 1992. i remember his words. Mrs. McQuinn, "I thank God that I was able to get all the cancer, because it was very aggressive." I am still alive and well and I am grateful for his medical advice and attention in asissting me during a very difficult time in my life. RIP! His memories will always be in my thought and my family. I pray that the family will always be made aware of the great work in medicine that he was able to accomplished. My Favorite Doc forever!

In 2017 when I was past the end of my rope, unable to walk or even stand with no way to get medical help or even get my basic needs taken care of, Dr. Kurup, after my Uncle Dr. Vinay Sharma talked to him, made arrangements for me to see a specialist (Dr. Kidd) at VCU Health. Within a few weeks I was taken to the hospital, given treatment that helped me begin to recover and able to walk again.

If it wasn't for Dr. Kurup working with VCU and my uncle, I would not have survived 2017.

Dear Kurup Family. I am sorry your loss. Kurup Uncle was always kind to me. I will miss his dry humor and wit. He really helped me personally when I got sick and helped me to find a good doctor. I hope peace for you all. If I can do anything please let me know. Love Renu

Dear Mrs. Kurup, thank you for your kindness and support all these years from you and your husband. I don't really have many friends in the local Indian community, but you two and the Sens and Dr. Kapil have always cared about me and I really appreciate it. I'm going to miss Dr. Kurup.

I worked for him in the late 1980's at Richmond Memorial Hospital and couldn't have met a nicer man. So smart and loved his family and patients. His knowledge will be missed.

We lived in Richmond, Virginia from 1976-1984. During this time several opportunities occurred to meet Dr. Manikoth Kurup. One such association was related to Hindu Center of Virginia.
I always believed that Dr. Kurup master-minded and skillfully navigated the creation of Hindu Center of Virginia.

More recently, a situation occurred when I needed his help to provide the contact of a Physician in Richmond Hospital. He lgot it done without slightest hesitation.
We knew several financially significant personalities of Indian Origin, but in my mind he stood the tallest. I pray for a peaceful transition to after-life to Dr. Manikoth Kurup.

Our Deepest condolences to Vasanthi and family.

I had known Dr. Kurup since 1990 when we used to live in Richmond, VA. He had introduced us to AKMG as he was the convener for the AKMG conference held at Williamsburg in 1995. He had organized the Indian community in Richmond and was instrumental in establishing the Temple and Festival of India. He was there for any help needed any time. My daughter was born in Richmond and her naming ceremony on the 28th day was organized in a grand manner by his family at his home with lot of guests. I had seen him and his wife last at the 2017 KHNA convention in Detroit. He will be greatly missed. Heartfelt condolences to family and friends.

I was extremely sadden after hearing about the passing of Dr. Kurup. He is often a figure in my discussions about surviving breast cancer. He was so kind and thorough as he helped me through that ordeal. He was a blessing to a very scared young lady in 1992. Just a PHENOMENAL surgeon. Rest in Peace and Blessings and condolences to his Family.
