Margaret Virginia "Ginny" Cone

1940 - 2022

CONE, Mrs. Margaret Virginia "Ginny", died peacefully in Oak Ridge, Tenn., on April 16,2022. Born on March 9, 1940 to Margaret and Herbert Cone, Ginny is survived by her siblings, Susan Cone Scott, Robert T.C. Cone (wife, Barbara) and Frances Cone Caldwell; nieces and nephews, Nell Cone McCarty, Temple Cone (wife, Angelyn Givens), Keenan Caldwell, Scottie Caldwell, Alexandra Scott and Frederic Scott IV. Ginny was a graduate of St. Catherine's School, Hollins College and Mt. Holyoke College. After graduate school, she worked at the NIH in Washington, D.C. before moving to Oak Ridge, Tenn., where she worked in the Biology Division at Oak Ridge National Laboratories. Ginny's Celebration of Life will be held at St. James's Episcopal Church, 1205 West Franklin Street, Richmond, on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at 1 p.m.
