Margaret Richardson Obituary
RICHARDSON, Margaret Turner Christian, "Turner," of Richmond, Virginia, passed away peacefully May 10, 2022 after a brief illness.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Turner Christian and Margaret Lewis Tuthill Christian of Richmond; and her aunt, Mary Wall Christian of Williamsburg, Virginia. She is survived by her sister, Marianna Christian Broaddus; and brother-in-law, Scott Broaddus; her son, William "Bill" Richardson and wife, Kimberly; son, Charles Richardson and wife, Marci; daughter, Mary Wall Richardson Hood and husband, Dozier Hood; grandchildren, Christian Wainwright Richardson, Charles Tyler Richardson, James Austin Richardson, Turner Hines Richardson, Maryann Lindsay Richardson, William Wainwright Richardson, Russell Burke Hood, Charles Foy Hood and Wainwright Richardson Hood; great-grandchildren, Margaret Richardson, Charlie Richardson, James Richardson and Holden Richardson.
Turner was born May 21, 1933 in Richmond, Virginia. She was a constant positive spirit and kind to everyone she met. She made many happy memories at Thomas Jefferson High School in Richmond and graduated class of 1952. She was a competitive swimmer and a member of the a cappella group. She attended Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, Va. She raised her family in Williamsburg and volunteered as Choir Mother, in the Altar Guild and the Kitchen Ministry at Bruton Parish Church. She was blessed to make many cherished friends that were family all these years. She served for the Red Cross in Mississippi during Hurricane Katrina driving a military water truck. She had a career in advertising and marketing for many years and retired to spend more time with family.
Going to the Rivah brought her great joy! She loved cooking crabs, watching osprey and always leaving room for dessert. Turner was an avid walker, card player and storyteller and was the life of any party and loved by all.
Services will be held at Bruton Parish Church, Williamsburg, Virginia on May 23, 2022 at 10:30 a.m., followed by a reception in the parish hall.
A Celebration of Life will take place at Westminster Cantebury, Richmond, Virginia on June 20, 2022 at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts be made to the Westminster Canterbury Foundation Annual Fellowship Fund, 1600 Westbrook Ave., Richmond, Virginia 23227 or Samaritan's Purse Worldwide Ministry.
