Mark was one of the finest gentlemen I have ever known. He was honest, fair, kind and willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. I looked forward to his visits to Collegiate School when he would show me new pictures of his family and tell me what the boys were doing. He was so proud of his sons and Ashley! Dear Diane, Stuart, Ashley and children.
I have cried for you over and over the past week as God has allowed my heart in a small way to share the unbearable grief you feel. Stuart how many times you spoke to me of your boys and your pride in them as we walked the path of life together. Family meant then and now everything. My precious friends, you have not lost Mark you know where he is. Safe in the arms of God. Stop asking questions that will surely come to you over and over for there are no satisfying answers; but there is a God, eternal in the heavens and He has promised us a peace that passes all understanding. He never promised us a life without heart break and sorrow. Just that he would walk with us even through the Valley of the Shadow of Death. Notice the word through. You will come out on the other side as Mark surely has for the same conforting words of God to King David said,... and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
I know these are deeply troubling days for all of us but we must not allow the noise of our sorrow and grief to be so loud that we can not celebrate and thank our Lord and Savior for the wonders of Mark's life and accomplishments. I just read 10 pages of condolences from people who love you and have done their best to tell you its going to be alright and it will be in time. You are loved so very much and so was Mark, but all the love those who wrote and I cannot begin to express how deeply your heavenly Father hurts for your pain right now. He is eternal and will help us through the days ahead until we are gathered into that celestial city called the new Jerusalem where pain, separation and death are swallowed up in victory. But until then I shall go on praying for you and thanking God that you are my friends and that I feel so deeply for you right now. We love you and so does your God.

I was so very sorry to hear of Mark's passing. As graduation coordinator at Atlee High School, I had the great pleasure of working with Mark for quite a few years. I always looked forward to Mark's visits to school. He was not just a salesman but a friend who truly cared about the students and teachers with whom he dealt. Just want to share what a wonderful person Mark was to work with.He was an encourager when we were down and most of all he shared many things that he was doing - like the run at the beach, how good a swimmer Grayson was and how everyone clapped when Jack swam across the pool for the first time. Please know that Mark was truly loved because of the love he freely and so kindly shared with everyone he met.
I had the pleasure of knowing Mark at Midlothian High School and then working along side him at Herff Jones. His work ethic and passion for the students he worked for was like none other. I learned a lot from Mark and am glad we had those many graduation and ring ceremonies to share. I will cherish those memories and hope that those good memories will help you and your family stay strong as you try to get through this time of sorrow.
He never let anything rattle his spirit. The service at St. Edwards on Saturday was truly a celebration of Mark's life. Cherish those good times.
You are in my thoughts and prayers. Please know that I am here if you need anything. God bless and never forget his smile. I know I won't forget the impact he made in my life.

For those who are left without Mark, he will be greatly missed - but I am sure that God has gained another ANGEL to watch over us all.
I attended Sacred Heart School with Mark many years ago and we kept in touch through High School, and he was ALWAYS one of those people you meet in your life that you KNEW you could trust, and depend on. He had a kind and gentle spirit, and was the type of man who would go out of his way to help anyone, for any reason.
May you find peace in knowing that the love he shared while on this earth was so profound for his family - he will truly be in your hearts forever, and he will guide you in the rest of your days.

Mark was my supervisor, co-worker and friend. Mark was always so pleasant and positive with the high school students each day. His professionalism had an immediate touch on them, and they looked upon him as their friend. He listened to the teenagers and went out of his way to help solve their dilemmas. The thousands of high school students that Mark dealt with each year have lost a true friend and role model.
