Martha Fisher Smart

Martha Fisher (Pat) Smart, 69, of Doswell, passed away Sunday, December 14, 2003. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Brian Smart. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 50 years, Gene D. Smart Sr.; three sons, Gene D. Smart Jr., Alan R. and his wife, Lisa Dowdy Smart, and Barry J. and Sheryl Pitts Smart; four sisters, Beth Lashley, Bonnie Ornduff, Lyndall Fisher and Hilda Gibson; two brothers, Jennings and G.E. Fisher; also, six grandchildren, Margaret (Maggie), Christopher (Chris), Michael and Samuel Smart, Christina and Casey Zahn; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Smart was a member of Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church where she loved singing in the choir. She enjoyed square dancing and round dancing with her husband, Gene. Friends may call at the Reid Funeral Home, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8:30 p.m., and where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday. Burial in Hillcrest Cemetery, Louisa. Memorial gifts may be made to the National Kidney Foundation of the Virginias or Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church.
