Mary Frances Ayers

AYERS, Mary Frances, 81, of N. Chesterfield, Va., passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents, James F. Smith and Viola May Brown Smith; sister, Betty Dowdy; brother, Earl Smith. Mary was a longtime member of Webber Memorial Baptist Church; she loved to travel, paint, cross-stitch and she never met a stranger. "Nanny" will be missed by so many, especially her beloved family. She was a small lady with a huge heart. She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Ralph K. Ayers; children, Cynthia Matthews (Brian), Susan Jones (Billy) and Douglas Ayers (Angela); and sister, Mildred Brunner; seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. A private service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, January 21, 2021, at J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home of Chester. The service will be live streamed; go to www.jtmorriss.com.
