Mary Jackoway Obituary

JACKOWAY, Mary Ellen, who was born, raised and lived predominately in Richmond, died on April 23, 2023, at the age of 93.

Mary Ellen is survived by her children, James Jackoway of Los Angeles, California, Paula Young of Grand Junction, Colorado and Laura Ludvigsen of Richmond, Virginia; her grandchildren, Katie Miller of Raleigh, North Carolina, Jed Jackoway of Austin, Texas, Robert Ludvigsen of Richmond, Virginia, Jess Jackoway of Chicago, Illinois; and great-grandchildren, Grace Miller and Charlotte Miller of Raleigh, North Carolina; and her sister-in-law, Shirley Reinhard. Mary Ellen was born on November 21, 1929 in Richmond to Meyer and Marian Reinhard. She attended the University of Miami where she met her husband, Leland. They married December 24, 1950 and soon thereafter started a family. Her primary occupation during her working years was as a property manager. Her children and grandchildren were blessed that her highest priority was caring for her family. Mary Ellen enjoyed spending time with her many friends in Richmond and Virginia Beach. In addition to her family and friends, she was passionate about the Beth Ahabah Museum & Archives and devoted much of her time over the years volunteering on its behalf.
