Mary K. Pross, age 96, of Richmond, Va., entered eternal rest with the Lord on September 8, 2025. Born the daughter of the late Julia Crowley King and John King in Jersey City, N.J., on October 21, 1928. Beloved wife and partner for 71 years of V.J. Pross, Jr. (Col. U.S.M.C. Retired). Loving mother of Peter N. Pross (Beth) of Pittsburgh, Pa., Kimberly Ann Bise (Tim) of Powhatan, Va., and Paul Martin Pross of North Chesterfield, Va. Also survived by grandchildren, Matthew Ian Pross, Michael Andrew Pross, and Justin Timothy Bise; and great-grandchildren, Jackson Pross, Siena Pross, and Bennett Pross. Mary found joy in her garden, her Boston bull dogs, and in the love of her husband, children, and grandchildren. She delighted in decorating her home and was always eager to help others. With quiet determination, she worked part-time jobs to support her children's college education.
On September 27, 2025, family and friends will gather at Bennett & Barden Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. for a memorial service in her honor at 11 a.m. A celebration of her life will continue with a meal at St. John Neumann Catholic Church.Inc. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to St. Edwards the Confessor Catholic Church, 2700 Dolfield Dr, North Chesterfield, VA 23235, or to (choose a medical research foundation of your choice).
