Mary Ann Nolte Sheehan

Mary Ann Nolte Sheehan, 92, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents, Helen Kusterer Nolte and William Joseph Nolte; her beloved husband, Harold (Harry) Sheehan; brothers, Rev. William J. Nolte, Jr., Robert L. Nolte, David G. Nolte and Paul H. Nolte; and sisters, Sister Doris Nolte and Peggy Nolte Benedetti; brothers-in-law, Arthur Sheehan and Robert Sheehan

She is survived by 19 nieces and nephews and 22 grandnieces and nephews, whom she cherished and called her grandchildren and who called her "Mimi".

Mary Ann attended St. Gertrude's High School in Richmond and Georgetown Visitation Junior College in Washington, D.C. She was employed as Assistant Volunteer Coordinator at St. Mary's Hospital for 20 years. After retirement, she was very active in the Community, including volunteering at St. Mary's, St. Francis Assisted Living Home, The Shepherd Center, Circle Center Adult Daycare Services and the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart. Known for her effervescent personality and beautiful voice, she sang for years with the Heartstrings at health care facilities around the Metro Richmond area. She was one of a kind, a person who truly cared about everyone she met and brightened every room she entered. She will be sadly missed by her friends and family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at The Cathedral of the Sacred Heart at 823 Cathedral Place, Richmond, VA, on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at 1 p.m. Interment to follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
