Maude Elizabeth Long

Maude Long Obituary

Departed this life, January 3, 2005 in Newport News, Va., Maude Elizabeth Long, formerly of St. Stephens Church, Va. She is survived by three daughters, Doris Murine Dudley of Newport News, Elizabeth Long Pollard and Ardella Long Robinson, both of St. Stephens Church; one son, Latney Junior Long of Glen Allen; one sister, Katherine Hedgeman Howe of Philadelphia, Penn. She will lie in state, Saturday, January 8 from 10 a.m. until the hour of service at New Morning Star Baptist Church, St. Stephens Church, Va., where a funeral service will be held at 12 noon. Rev. Dr. Lucille Carrington, pastor, officiating. Interment in the church cemetery. Services of comfort entrusted to Washington Funeral Home, Tappahannock.

To Ardella/Paul, Yvette, Chucky and Joy: Gracious, caring, loving, dutiful all describe Maude Long. I shall remember her as one who embodied the description of a virtuous woman found in the book of Proverbs. I pray God's blessings and shalom be with you all at this time.
