Maya Warren Obituary
She is survived by her brother, James; sister-in-law, Darcy; nephews, Christian, Jordan, and Evan; niece, Alexis; great-Aunt Ella; and numerous cousins, and sister-friends.
Maya received her undergraduate degree in Music Management from New York University in New York City in 1994, her master's degree in Communications from Regent University in Virginia Beach in 1997, and her law degree from Fordham Law School in New York City in 2004. Maya worked for UnitedLex in Richmond, Virginia since 2013, serving as a Staff Attorney for the past six years.
Above all, Maya cherished her faith, her family and her friendships. A doting aunt, she reveled in the accomplishments of her nephews and her niece. A loyal friend, she enjoyed travel, great conversation and lots of laughter with her friends. And as a devoted daughter and sister, she faithfully cared for her family. An avid learner and culture-seeker, Maya enjoyed poetry, music, walks in nature, and the ocean.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 7, 2022, at Unity of Bon Air, 923 Buford Road, Richmond, VA 23235. Family and friends will be received during a brief reception immediately following the service.
