Michael Stapler Obituary
Michael Wilson Stapler
October 31, 1946 - October 29, 2024
Michael Wilson Stapler passed peacefully in his sleep October 29th, 2024, just two days shy of his 78th birthday.
He is proceeded by his father Eustace John Stapler, his mother Thelma Wilson Stapler, and his brother Eustace John Stapler, Jr.
He is survived by the love of his life, Nadien Stapler, his sister Barbara Ann Maloit (Robert), son Christopher Michael Stapler (Cesia), his favorite daughter Vanessa Stapler Johnson (William), Timothy Allen Stapler (Kari Lynn), his grandsons Gavin Mitchell Stapler, Callum Michael Stapler, Connor Patrick Stapler, and Andrés Michael Stapler, and close friend Joseph Spiaggi.
Michael was very proud of his military service in the Army, specializing in Jungle warfare. He was most committed to his family, forever a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He is best remembered as a problem solver who loved to learn. A mischievous character with a brilliant smile, he loved to laugh, but was always kind and fair, greatly appreciating the same characteristics in others. He was devout in his faith but valued others’ views and beliefs. He loved fishing, going to the beach, was a history buff, and could fix anything, and if he couldn’t, it was just another opportunity to learn something new. He will be greatly missed by those he loved and those who loved him in return.
The family will receive visitors at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 8200 Woodman Rd, Henrico, VA 23228 on Tuesday, November 5th at 4:00 PM with a Christian Wake to follow at 5:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church on Wednesday, November 6th at 10:00 AM. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia, 10300 Pridesville Road, Amelia Court House, VA 23002.
In lieu of flowers, Michael’s family encourages you to donate to his church, Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
