Michael S. Taylor

1964 - 2023

TAYLOR, Michael S., 81, of Ashland, went to be with the Lord Friday, August 18, 2023. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Rae Hare Taylor and daughter, Sylvia Nicole Taylor. Mike is survived by his daughter, Teresa Taylor; two sons, Charles Taylor (Zoe) and Jeffery Taylor (Diane); four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and brother, Joseph Taylor (Verna). Mike served four years in the US Navy and owned and operated Virginia Refrigeration for 44 years. He was a loving family man who was devoted to Christ.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Mechanicsville Chapel of the Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Rd. Services will be held noon Friday, August 25, 2023 at Ashland Church of God. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. in Greenwood Memorial Gardens. In keeping with Mike's dedication to supporting and donating to his community, the family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Ashland Church of God, 407 Myrtle St, Ashland, VA 23005.
