Nancy Satterfield Davey

1926 - 2023

Nancy Satterfield Davey was born on April 10th 1926. She was raised in Richmond Virginia and went to school at St. Catherine's School class of 1944. Her parents, Calvin and Mary Minor Satterfield were in the hospitality business and ran hotels in Pinehurst NC and Cape May NJ. She spent her summers at her beloved Chalfonte Hotel in Cape May. She had many close friends she shared memories with from those summers. Sully and Merrinelle Sullivan, Harry and Marge Strater, Al Partenhimer, Ron and Jule Campbell and so many more. She was famous for her extensive trivia and spelling expertise. She was a great football fan and she entertained her nephews Tommy and Cricket Satterfield as well as Calvin Satterfield and his wife Louise and her son Bart down on West Avenue watching her Redskins. She lived for 14 years in an attached apartment with her son and his wife Hedley. During this period she loved socializing with grandchildren Matthew, Chris and Ashley as well as their friends Thomas Fritts and Michael Barry. They loved to share a drink with her and listen to her stories and her favorite Frank Sinatra songs. She famously wore her John Riggins football jersey as her costume every Halloween. She will be missed by all that were lucky enough to know her.
