Norma Jean Cardinal

1942 - 2023

Cardinal, Norma Jean Greene, born August 16, 1942, departed this life on October 3, 2023. She is survived by her sons, Kenny and David P. Cardinal (Theresa) and daughter, Valerie Hawk (Red); her sisters, Barbara G. Hall and Robin Evans (David); her grandchildren, Jacob Cardinal (and his mom Sharon) and Alayna Hawk; her sisters-in-law, Fay Cardinal (Jerry) and Janice Cardinal (Ed); and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Jean was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, David; parents, Elmer Claude and Ellen Worley Greene; sister-in-law, Phyllis Cardinal; brother-in-law, Sonny Cardinal; and daughter-in-law, Laura Duty Cardinal. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 29, 2023 at Grace Episcopal Church, 2955 River Road West, Goochland, VA. The Rev. Emily Dunevant officiating. There will be a reception in the Parish House after the service. The family would like to thank Dowda Senior Consultants, Yama Services, and Promedica/Heartland Hospice for their loving care of Jean and for the support given to her loved ones.
