Peter Chaplin

Peter Chaplin, 78, of Richmond, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 22, 2005. He is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Esther Chaplin; daughters, Lafonde Getties, Rosalind Chaplin, Sherry Hunt, and Angela Chaplin; two sons-in-law, Terry Getties and Toney Hunt; seven grandchildren, Shaun Getties, Michael Hunt, Alexander Chaplin, Jasmine Hunt, Ariel Chaplin, Tiara Getties, and Morgan Hunt; three devoted sisters-in-law and their spouses, Marjorie and Charles Green, Mary and Fred Munford, and Barbara and James Fleming; one brother-in-law, Elbert Parker Sr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He served in the Korean War and was retired from Anthem Blue Cross after 20 years of service. He was a loving, devoted husband and father and will be greatly missed. His remains rest at the W.S. Watkins & Son Funeral Home, 2700 North Ave. Funeral services will be held Saturday, at 12 p.m. at First Baptist Church Washington Park, 720 Cheatwood Avenue, Pastor Patricia A. Wimbish officiating. Interment Roselawn Memory Gardens.
