JONES, Phillip "Tony" Anthony, Sr., 63, died at Johnston-Willis Hospital from complications of prostate cancer. He was born December 25, 1957 in Welch, W.Va. He was the son of Donald Smith Jones. He was a high school graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School and was raised at the Methodist Childrens Home on Broad Street in Richmond, Va. Tony stayed in the field of Engineering for over 40 years, but was known for his expertise in electrical, HVAC, plumbing and contracting. In addition to be being survived by his father, Donald Jones of Hampton, Va., he is survived by his wife of 19 years, Barbara Miller Jones of Greencastle, Pa.; and brothers, Greg and Todd Jones, of Richmond, Va.; his two beloved sons, Phillip A. Jones Jr. of St. Augustine, Fla.; stepson, Steven M. Turner of Chesterfield, Va.; his five grandchildren, Cole, Ian, Wyatt, Weston and Allie were deeply loved and cherished by him. Tony was known for his quick wit, big hugs and a kind and compassionate spirit, and he was loved by many friends. His son, Phillip, was the true apple of his eye and he loved watching him for many years playing baseball, basketball and football. He was proud of the men both his sons, Phillip and Steven had become. A private family viewing will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at Bliley's Funeral Homes. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Prostate Cancer Foundation.
