Aunt Phyllis,

I know your wondering why it took so long for me to sign your book. Well I just felt that when I did that would mean I had to say good-bye and I wasn't ready to do that yet. I still can't believe all this has happened. I was hoping it was all a bad dream. In your favorite words this Brrrrrah for you. Now I know exactly how you felt when you use to say it. That day at your repast it just didn’t seem right, I was waiting for you to come at any moment and say HHHeeeyyy(as only you can). For those that truly know you they know how it goes.

Do you know there is not a word to describe how much you are going to be missed or how I feel right now. All the talks we’ve had, the jokes and laughter, the times you spent down at the house, parties and of course our last joy ride. Boy did we really show off that day. You were truly a blessing to anyone you knew. You were always there whenever I needed you no matter what. I will cherish all the times we shared. You have left me with such great memories and no one can ever take your place. I am just glad that my kids were able to know whom there Great-Aunt Phil is and I know that you are close to their heart.

Now your in the house of the LORD you’ve earned your wings so fly high your up there with uncle Baldie so I know you’re going to be alright.

I LOVE YOU AND MAY GOD REST YOUR SOUL!!!!!

Phyllis,

Since your passing I have been heartbroken. You were more than an aunt…you were my friend and confidant. Despite the fact that I am heartbroken, I am thankful that God allowed me to have you for as long as he did. You were a blessing to me; I miss you so much. You were always there for me when I needed you. Who am I going to talk to now??? How am I going to get through life without you??? You taught me an important lesson. You taught me how to see the true value of people. The best thing that you could give to another person is love and understanding. The best thing that you can do for them is not to judge them. We’ve shared a lot over the years. I know that I have to stop mourning your death and celebrate your life, but that is easier said than done. It just doesn’t seem right. I will cherish the memories that I have and pass them down to your great nephew. Don’t worry he will know all about his crazy Aunt Phyl, who had the biggest heart of gold. Thank you for everything. I LOVE YOU …until we meet again…REST IN PEACE.

To my cousins in their time of sorrow and distress. There are no words or deeds of kindness that can express the heartfelt thoughts that are with you at this time. We can all look back at the times we have had down in Stony Creek, especially at your your grandpa and my Uncle Jim's house. Remember when his chickens would chase us around the yard at least the ones that Junie and Alvin didn't run down through the woods. Man! The last time we got together was at my house for a cook-out, you all really surprised when you showed up! I will always hold those memories so dear. As we close this one page in our book, please know that the Almighty watches over us and he will not leave us never. To the children, just pray-pray like you're going crazy, ask God to take care of your needs and bring you peace. Even though this is a rough journey, THANK GOD for all that he has done, is doing and will forever continue to do. Just always let him be your guide, because ONLY what you do for Christ will last. Family, I'm just a phone call away.

To My Dear Sweet Aunt Phyllis...I am truly lost for words right now and i have been since my aunt Linda phoned me saying you had past. It's amazing how we go about life and think that we will have another time or day to say i love you mom,sis,bro,aunt,nephew.etc. I missed your presence at Butt-Butt party and i reminsce back when we were at Linwood's party and we had so much fun. I will never forget you Phil..and i will keep you close in my heart, and please guide us all and look over us..We soon will be in that mighty kingdom and please save your Niece a spot..Oldman will really miss his twin..you two were a mess. My heart cries today for the lost of my dearest friend, Phyllis. Our paths go way back to what we consider "back in the day". Back in the day when you saw Phyllis I was either around or on my way,"around the way" for those who know what that means,(On the John). Phyllis and I had some crazy times, we were everywhere and everyone knew us. The funny thing about our journey is that most of the times we were exploring on foot. We walk Richmond from the west, east, north & south, often times we would get ourselves in some tight situations, but because we were from "around the way" we could talk our way out of them. Today, I reminisce about my sister/friend and all the wonderful memories we shared, and I thank God for these fond memories and the times we shared. To my extended family Ms.Edith, Mr.Harris, Judith, Linda, Gwen, Oldman, Fonda, Bambi, Tee, Jabria, Junie, Jamon, and your sisters, I love you all and I am praying that your fond memories will serve you too. Always know that I am just a phone call away and if there is anything I can do, call me. Eventhough, Phyllis stay was short , I know that she enjoy her life and I pray that God will keep your all in his care and grace at this time of sorrow.
