HASTINGS, Phyllis Adams, 85, of New Kent, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 10, 2021. She loved the Lord and loved her family and loved to be surrounded by them. She was preceded in death by her parents, Larkin and Hattie Adams; one brother, Elmo Adams; daughter-in-law, Debbie Fox; sister-in-law, Francis Adams; and a great-grandson, Kaleb Harris. Left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 51 years, Jack Hastings; her four children, Donald Fox (Tuyet), Wanda Glenn (Henry), Jimmy Fox, (Ruth), David Fox (Terrie); and daughter-in-law, Eleanor Fox; her seven grandchildren, Jason Fox (Dana), Sheila Harris (Kevin), Tracy Ward (Daniel), Chris Rowsey (Tori), Renee McNiff (Stephen), Brian Fox (Alison) and Jamie Fox; and her six great-grandchildren, Justin Fox, Samantha and Kaylee Harris, Colton Ward, Briar Fox and Luke Burton; her siblings, Aubrey Adams (Joyce), Thomas Adams, Shirley Riggleman, Diane Batkins (Bubba). The family will receive friends on Friday, January 15, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at B.W. White Funeral Home, 7837 Richmond Tappahannock Hwy., Aylett, where services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 16. The interment will follow at 1 p.m. at Hopewell Baptist Church, 5061 Hopewell Rd., New Kent.
