I got to know Andy through the International Christian Pharmacists Association over 20 years ago.
I was a hospital Pharmacist in UK, am now retired.
I began my occasional communications with Andy at a time when my family were going through some issues regarding my wife's health.
Andy was always very supportive, and his words were of such a great help in a time of need.
A truly great man who I would have loved to have met in person.
May he rest in peace, and rise in glory.

Andy was a great friend of ours before we ever met face to face. My wife and I were serving as missionary pharmacists at Hopital Albert Schweitzer in rural Haiti when we started getting letters from Andy seemingly out of the blue. He encouraged as we served at this challenging location. Andy took the time to write encouraging letters to us over a period of about 9 months as we volunteered at that very difficult place to serve. We continued our friendship through correspondence until we finally met face-to-face years later. An amazing man with a giving heart. My wife (also a pharmacist) and I greatly valued his friendship over the ensuing years. We greatly valued his encouraging letters who took the time to reach out; a man we had yet to met face-to-face. When we did finally meet, it was like a reunion. A great and giving man.

I had the distinct honor of working with Andy at Williamsburg community Hospital and as the first shared clinical pharmacist between Waynesboro, Harrisonburg, and Staynton. Not many people know that he was actually the interim CEO of Williamsburg community Hospital when the previous CEO passed away. In that capacity as well as his role as Director of pharmacy services, and he did an outstanding job. He frequently came with his wife Joan, To our house for dinner. We were friends over for decades, and I will miss him very much.

I had the honor of knowing Andy through VSHP/ASHP and working with him after his retirement as a relief pharmacist at Home IV. Andy was truly an innovator in hospital pharmacy and the profession is better due to his contribution. Andy's passion for teaching and mentoring touched so many pharmacists that his legacy will live on.

I was very privileged as a pharmacy student to have Andy as a preceptor at Waynesboro Community Hospital. Andy was highly respected in the profession of pharmacy, was very innovative, and had high standards of patient care. He was a national and state leader who was ahead of his time in developing standards of practice that exist today. What was most impressive about Andy was his exceptional humility. He had a quiet and gentle spirit and did not seek credit for his hard work. I count it a great honor to have had him as a friend and colleague for many decades. I extend my prayers and sincerest sympathy to the family.

Heartbroken. Mr. Andy always treated me with kindness. I appreciate his supportive, gentle manner and guidance. As the father of VSHP, Mr. Andy shaped the future of hospital pharmacy practice in Virginia. We are forever in his debt.

My heartfelt sympathy to Andy's family. I went to Waynesboro HS, leaving in 1967. As an MCV senior pharmacy student, I did a clerkship with Andy at WCH, a very interesting experience with a great role model. He was the epitome of the gentleman pharmacist.
