Rebecca Roche "Becky" White

1931 - 2022

WHITE, Rebecca Roche "Becky", 90, of Richmond, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, surrounded by loved ones.

Becky was preceded in death by her husband, William Bingham White "Bing"; her parents, Edward Howard Roche and Rebecca Ball Roche; her sisters, Jean Elliott (Bob), Nancy Beall and Emma Roche; her son-in-law, Gerald McKeever; and her niece, Katherine Beall. She is survived by her three daughters, Susan Terry (Tom), Jean McKeever and Becky White (Buck Blair); her four grandchildren, Brian Terry (Kathleen), Katie Borton (Chris), Alex Terry (Ashley) and Peter Terry; her six great-grandchildren, Ben Terry, Collin Terry, Ava Borton, Jackson Borton, Bing Terry and Max Terry; her niece, Rebecca Di Sabato (Mark); her great-nephew, Griffith; and great-niece, Avery.

Becky was born on June 2, 1931, in Richmond, Virginia. She attended Thomas Jefferson High School and the College of William and Mary. In 1951, she married her high school sweetheart, Bing White, who attended St. Christopher's School and Hampden-Sydney College. When Bing died in 1956, her focus became raising her three young daughters, Susan, Jeannie and Becky.

She was a member of The Country Club of Virginia, St. Stephen's Episcopal Church and The Woman's Club. She was well-known as the ballroom dance instructor at Town & Country Cotillion for many years and also worked for Cottrell Insurance, Bowers, Nelms & Fonville, and Carrington & Michaux.

Becky was a champion tennis player at The Country Club of Virginia and enjoyed dancing, swimming, Pilates and yoga well into her 80s. She spent many summers at Gloucester Banks and enjoyed traveling to Florida, the Caribbean and Mexico. However, she was happiest surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

If there was music, Becky would be dancing. She outlived all of her dance partners but is now reunited with them and dancing once again. Please celebrate her life by laughing, loving and dancing.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date at Hollywood Cemetery in Richmond, Virginia.
