Reuben Horace Lumpkin

Reuben Horace Lumpkin, 91, of Mechanicsville, went to be with the Lord Thursday, January 8, 2026. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Gwen Lumpkin and is survived by his wife of 15 years, Rosemary Lumpkin, children, Marla Jan Lumpkin and Ronald Scott Lumpkin (Cindy); step-children, Catherine Ryan Davis (Mike) and Robert A. Ryan (Virginia); grandchildren, Travis, Morgan, and Logan Lumpkin; step-grandchildren, Michael Justin Davis, and Steven and Dylan Ryan; as well as extended family and numerous friends.

Horace was a US Army Veteran, a long-time member of Gethsemane Church of Christ, and a member of Hanover Ruritan Club, and Eastern Hanover Volunteer Fire Department, Co. 3. Horace enjoyed his work as a machinist with AMF. He was a jack of all trades and could fix anything.

The family will received friends from 1 to 2 pm, with services beginning at 2 pm, Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at Gethsemane Church of Christ, 5146 Mechanicsville Tpke, Mechanicsville, VA 23111. Interment followed in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to either the American Cancer Society, 4240 Park Place Ct, Glen Allen, VA 23060 or Eastern Hanover Volunteer Fire Department, 8493 New Bethesda Road, Mechanicsville, VA 23116. bennettfuneralhomes.com
