August 11, 1934 - November 1, 2025
Richard Lee Wright, 91, of Chesterfield, went to be with Jesus on November 1, 2025. Born in Pearisburg, VA, he was the son of the late William Foster Wright and Lila Lawrence Wright. Richard was also preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Jean Wright; and a son, Richard Lee Wright, Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy Stargardt-Wright; three children, Paige W. Cranor, Beverly W. Krause (Andrew) and Glenn L. Wright (Karen); five grandchildren, Cosette Alford (Colby), Hailey Cranor, Lindsey Richardson, Grayson Wright and Grant Wright; four grandsons by marriage, Josh (and family), Jeremy, Jonathan (Anya) and Jordan Krause; one great-grandson, Isaac Alford; one daughter by marriage, Becky Stargardt Doyle and family; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Richard was a graduate of Virginia Tech in Mechanical Engineering. He retired after over 40 years in the nuclear energy industry. He was an active member of the Foundation of Truth Ministry and served in missions work in 31 countries.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, November 6, at the Chesterfield Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 14301 Ashbrook Parkway, where services will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, November 7. Interment will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 8, in West View Cemetery, Radford, VA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Foundation of Truth Ministry, P.O. Box 4753, Midlothian, VA, 23112.
Richard lived daily fully believing that he was "Too Blessed to be Stressed".
