November 12, 1942 - June 9, 2025
Rita Johnson "Meemaw" Blommel, 82, formerly of Hardyville and Richmond, died June 9th, 2025, after a long illness.
She was proceeded in death by her beloved husband of 50 Years, John Michael "Peepaw" Blommel and her son Alan Christopher Blommel.
She is survived by her brother James Edward Berry, three sons John Michael Blommel Jr.( Dawn), Ross Anthony Blommel (Angela) and James Matthew Blommel, four Grandchildren, Jennah(Sam), Caroline(Sam), Kaitlyn and Christopher, and Four Great-Grandchildren, Ainsley, Addie, Fisher and Shortcake. A private interment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Middlesex County Volunteer Rescue Squad,17684 General Puller Hwy, Deltaville, VA, 23043 (www.mcvrs.life). The family is being served by the Mechanicsville Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home 8014 Lee Davis Rd.Mechanicsville, Va.23111.

Rita went to school with my husband at St. Patricks and they shared a close relationship when we moved to Deltaville and went to the Church of the Visitation.
She was a special and fine lady and will truly be missed. R.I.P.
