Robert L. Anderson, Jr, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2025, at the age of 90 in Mechanicsville, VA.
Born on April 29, 1935, in Richmond, VA, Bob grew up surrounded by family and friends who cherished his warmth and humor.
Bob dedicated over 60 years to the dental industry. He has held positions as a college rep at MCV's dental school, an office designer, an equipment specialist, a manager, and, finally, a dental practice transition sales consultant. He was respected for his integrity, leadership, and commitment to helping others succeed.
Bob was preceded in death by his father, Robert L. Anderson, Sr., and mother, Ruby Lee (Pearson) Anderson. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Marie Anderson; his children, Robert Anderson, III (Eileen), Gail Anderson, and Leonard Conyers (Angela); his grandchildren, Michael Wayne, Holly (Edward), Brandon, Robert, Alexandria (Ryan), Samantha (Bryce), Kenzie, and Ivan; his great-grandchildren Leha, Lucas, Riley, Bradey, Octavia, and Theodora; and his sister, Gloria Blackwell (Charles). Bob was an active member of Fairmont Baptist Church (now Shalom Baptist Church) and played softball for the team. He served in the National Guard and was a member of the Richmond Blues. Bob also loved golf, poker, traveling, exploring history, and enjoying time with his friends. He cherished every moment with his loved ones, whether sharing stories at the dinner table or watching his favorite football team, the Commanders. Bob will be remembered for his kindness, laughter, and unwavering love. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on December 4, 2025, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Bliley Funeral Home, 8510 Staples Mill Road, Richmond, Va. An additional visitation will be held on Friday, December 5th, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., with the service to follow at 12 p.m., at Bliley Funeral Home, 8510 Staples Mill Road, Richmond, Va. After the service, there will be a graveside service at Signal Hill Memorial Park, 12360 Hanover Courthouse Road, Hanover, VA 23069.
