Like my mom (Linda Parsons), would also like to recognize this great man and all the wonderful things he has done. I remember going to work with mom and dad at Richmond Power Equip. and we knew when he was there by the smell of cigar in the air, my brother and I knew we were going to get a gumball from the machine (under the condition that we guessed the color) we always got it anyway. I also remember spending time up at the cowpasture river, we had a great time and will never forget the hospitality Robert Brooks showed our entire family, he will be missed deeply and my condolences to the family.

Dear Brooks family, Something I always wanted to do was to thank Bob for giving us the opportunity to be able to move to the great state of Virginia and to work for such a wonderful man as Bob. He brought together a great group of people and treated them as family. He will always be remembered fondly.

Dear Mrs. B., Dick, Dave & Kip,
I was very sad to hear of your loss. I am quite tardy in this note. My only excuse is where could I start? My memories of your family and Mr. B are extensive and happy. I will always appreciate being an ‘adopted’ member, and if a man is a measure of his accomplishments and family then Mr. B is one of the great men I have known. I can only wish condolences from my family to yours.

To the Brooks family: Celebrating Bob's life this spring sounds exactly like something Bob would have wanted. I last saw Bob at Willie Lanier's funeral and what great conversation we had while remembering the past. I have respected few, the way I did Bob. He was "class" personified and I will miss him. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Brooks family,
I well understand your loss - Milford D. Lester of the wonderful class of 1951, died of pulmonary fibrosis on December 31, after a long and courageous battle we all knew he could not win. May you take solace, as do we, in knowing that he's with God and the angels and having a wonderful time - probably has already been greeted by Milf. Keep smiling at all the good times, they really do buoy you up - nancy wiedenman lester

"Hey You!" Pat, Dick, Dave, and Kip,
What a special person Bob was to so many people. I think so often of the outstanding team Bob assembled at Richmond Power Equipment. What fond memories, experiences, and results we were able to accomplish under his leadership. I will never forget the planning meetings at Buxton Farm. I will miss him.
