Robert Johnson Obituary
Johnson, Robert C. "Bob," of Midlothian, Va., passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2025. He was 99 years old. Born on February 19, 1926, in W.Va., and predeceased by his parents, Frank O. Johnson and Alma V. Johnson; his beloved wife, Loreen Agee Johnson of 65 years; brothers, Frank A. Johnson and John H. Johnson. He is survived by many nephews and nieces, Frank A. Johnson Jr. (Linda), John H. Johnson (Nancy), Judy J. Bolt, Kathryn J. Baber, (Andy) Helen J. Harford, Lucile A. Wright (Bruce); and many great- and great-great-nieces and nephews. He loved them all. He is also survived by his long-term friend Lee P. Martin, Jr., L. Wilson Duke, and Neal Barlascini.
He graduated from John Randolph High School in June 1943. To serve his country, he joined the Navy on his 18th birthday on February 19, 1944. He served aboard the destroyer USS Laffey 00724 for 27 months, serving in both the European war and Pacific. He was discharged on June 15, 1946, and returned to Farmville, Va.
On May 1, 1948, he decided to take advantage of the GI Bill and go to college. He enrolled in the advanced accounting classes at Smithdeal Marsey Business College in Richmond. He graduated on December 30, 1949. After graduation, he went to work with Lee P. Martin in his accounting business. They both took the CPA exam and passed it on May 29,1962. He continued to work until he retired on December 30, 1990.
Bob was an active member of the Westover Hills United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Willow Oaks Country Club and loved to play golf.
A graveside service will be held on July 12, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Westview Cemetery in Farmville, Va. A memorial service will be held on July 12, 2025, at 2 p.m. at Westover Hills United Methodist Church, Richmond, Va. A reception will follow with the family. Contributions may be made to Westover Hills United Methodist Church.

I worked years ago at Mr. Johnson´s and Mr. Martin´s accounting firm as a receptionist. I remember him as an affable, friendly and professional accountant. Rest in peace and condolences to his family, friends, and past co-workers.
