Robert Jacques Kloeti
August 15, 1948 - January 2, 2025
Robert Jacques Kloeti 76, of Richmond, VA, transitioned from God's earthly right hand into God's heavenly hand on January 2, 2025. He bravely fought Parkinson's Disease like a hero. This "Southern" boy with his charismatic charm, was born in Niskayuna, NY on August 15, 1948, called Williamston, NC home for 5 years before Richmond. He graduated from Huguenot High School in 1966 where he met his soulmate, Cindy Hyman. Following family tradition, he graduated from Auburn University, earning a BS in Aviation Management in 1970 while a member of Theta Chi Fraternity. First employment was a math/science teacher at Saint Edwards-Epiphany School being the first male teacher and is still remembered by his students. In 1975 he earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Richmond, T.C. Williams School of Law. Practicing law began with Bowles and Bowles before finding his law family at Florance Gordon Brown PC as a partner in 1983. Years of litigation earned recognitions including The Top Attorneys in VA-General Litigation, Legal Elite-Civil Litigation and Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory-highest rating. He was admitted to practice in VA state courts, District of Columbia and US District Courts for Eastern and Western District of VA. Occasionally partnering with Jack Boswell of Boswell & Williamson proved successful and a bonding friendship. He retired from the practice of law in 2016. Bob was the charter president of the Richmond Auburn Alumni Club where he initiated the AU license plate for VA. He served on the national Auburn Alumni Board of Directors from 1998-2004 and was elected President in 2000. Bob has been referred to as Mr Auburn (they thought his blood ran orange & blue), Dad, Uncle Jock, Big Daddy Bob, Jock in young years and Bob in mature years. Bob's passions surrounded his family and their activities: coached soccer teams, supported Girl and Boy Scouts, Indian Guides, James River High School VP Athletic Boosters, Baccalaureate Committee, PTA, Band Boosters and Council of James River HS. Volunteering as Bon Air Community Swim Team Clerk of Course, he developed an efficient swimmer heat lineup system that earned him the reputation of running the fastest swim meets in the league. Greatly appreciated by parents of swimmers we understand this system is still in use today! Cindy refused to let him own an antique fire truck, instead he joined the Old Dominion Historical Fire Society where he could admire them from afar. Time away was spent at Kerr Lake: relaxing, boating, swimming, skiing, enjoying sunsets and neighbors at bonfires and cookouts and challenging how loud he could make the kids scream while tubing. His mother's desire was to reincarnate as one of Bob's beloved Boxer dogs. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert P and Dorothy C Kloeti; his father-in-law, Herbert T Hyman Jr; brothers-in-law, Steven A Muenow Sr, Herbert T Hyman III (Kaye) and W Rogerson Hyman (Karen). He is survived by Cynthia H Kloeti, his wife of 55yrs; children, Lana Krausse (Charlie), E Paige Kloeti, Robert P Kloeti II; grandchildren, Kristine Burroughs (Christian), Trace Kloeti, Hudgins Eberly; bonus grandkids, Luke, Maggie, Shane Krausse; devoted sisters, Anne Bishop (Tim), Sarah Muenow; mother-in-law, Norma Hyman; sister-in-law, Susan Gunn (Tom); beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Closely by his side was Keith, Cary, Janet, Perry; his FGB team Kim, John, Sarah, Jamie; Caregiver, Team Claudia; Bella-his beloved boxer; Suncrest Hospice: Allison and Kenny and our Angels who provided food and prayers. Celebration of Life will be held February 7, 12:30 p.m. at All Saints Episcopal Church, 8787 River Rd, The Rev Ben Robertson officiating.
