On Wednesday, July 17, 2024, Robert Kocher, Jr. went to be with the Lord. He was 48 years old. He is survived by his loving wife and soulmate, Lucy Hogan; and his precious son, Robert Kocher, III. He is also survived by his loving parents, his devoted father Robert Kocher, Sr., and his loving mother, Candace Stafford; his two sisters, Kelly Kocher and Holly Newman (Jeff); his two nieces, Katelyn Cohn and Mackenzie Kocher; and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Tatiana and Dennis Grant.
Robbie was most recognized behind the counter or stocking the shelves at Once Upon A Vine on MacArthur Ave. He was an avid sports fan, and his favorite teams were the Baltimore Ravens and the Baltimore Orioles. He also loved to fish, but above all, he was most devoted to his family. They were his world.
A memorial visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at Bliley's - Central, 3801 Augusta Ave., Richmond, VA 23230, and from 4 to 6 p.m. on Friday, August 9, 2024.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorial contributions to be made in Robbie's memory to the Epilepsy Foundation of America.

I'm so sorry to hear about this. It was always a pleasure to talk with Rob about the best wine for an occasion or for a price. Gone way too young. My deepest sympathy to his family and friends.

I worked for Robbie for a while in 2022. He was a good boss and friend- patient and generous with his knowledge. He also had a big heart and a keen sense of humor. He loved his family very much and had a ton of friends from the neighborhood. I will miss him as I'm sure many others will.

Rob was such a loving man to all who knew and loved him. His smile lit up a room I will miss my son desperately but know he is out of pain and at peace with His Lotd. I love you Rob. Mom

I saw Robbie probably once a week, over many years, during my frequent visits to Once Upon a Vine. He was quick with a joke, and we'd spend several minutes busting each other's chops. But he'd always bring it back to family--"How's your Mom? How are your brothers? How are your kids?" It never felt like small talk; he was genuinely interested in how they were doing.
He loved talking about his family, and it was clear they were the center of his world. I can only imagine the huge hole this has left in their hearts, and offer up my deepest condolences.
RIP Robbie.
