Robert Nash Obituary

Robert Davenport Nash Sr.

April 25, 1934 - November 6, 2025

Robert Davenport Nash, Sr., 91, of Glen Allen, Va., died peacefully with his family by his side at 4:25 p.m. on November 6, 2025. He was, and always will be, a remarkable man.

Robert was everyone's someone. He was a devoted, loving husband to Jerry, and in the six years following her passing, not a day went by that he didn't miss her. He was a strong, caring father to Bob and David. He was a dedicated, adventurous grandfather to Alexa, Robert, and Ryan, who will never forget the lessons he taught them while riding along in his tractor or on the golf course. He was in constant awe of his great-grandson, Everett, never missing a chance to talk about him. He was a dependable, humorous friend to anyone who sought a listening ear or a good laugh. He was everything our world needed.

He took great pride in his various leadership roles throughout his life. He never missed a chance to boast about his perfect marks during basic training for the Army that earned him a trip home to see Jerry every weekend. He was highly successful in his professional career following his service, and found great gratification in his role as CEO and founder of Nash Consultants, Inc. He dutifully ran Nash Farm alongside his brothers, growing corn and soybeans and endlessly tinkering with his farm equipment. His most notable role, however, was that of the strong-willed patriarch of the Nash family.

He is survived by his son, Robert D. Nash, Jr.; grandchildren, Alexa Bianchi (Eric), Robert D. Nash, III, Ryan Nash, and their mother, Christine Nash; great-grandchild, Everett Bianchi; along with countless friends and extended family who will deeply miss him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Irma Nash; four sisters and four brothers; his wife of 65 years, Jerry Nash; and his son, David Nash.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday in the West Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 11020 W. Broad Street. His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the West Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, and interment will follow at the Berea Baptist Church cemetery, 15421 Pouncey Tract Road, Rockville. In lieu of flowers, please donate to FeedMore or directly to your local food bank.

Dear Bob: I just saw the notice of the loss of your sweet father this evening or I would certainly have been at his funeral. I´ve been out of town and out of the loop. We had such great times with him, Jerry and you kids during your growing up years. Please know I´m thinking of you and your family during this sad time. Love,
Janet Smith

Bob and I were associates and friends at the C&P Telephone Company of Virginia, where we both worked in the Independent Company Relations Group in the 80's. Bob welcomed me into the organization, and showed me the ropes when I was assigned there. I remember him as an early adopter of computers when they were first introduced to the
company. Bob was definitely one of the good guys. I remember him fondly.

I had no clue that Jerry had passed until I saw this - So sorry to hear that both are 'gone' but life is far better where they are now. They will rest in peace, prayers for the family....

Great memories of Robert and Jerry! It was a surprise blessing to him and us when he joined our choir! Lovely tenor voice and always a warm and good man. Prayers and thoughts to the family. I know you will miss him greatly! So sorry I am out of town but will be there in spirit.
