Robert Weakley Obituary

Robert Marshall Weakley, 69, of Richmond, passed away Friday, February 7, 2003. He was the son of the late Cleve and Pattie Weakley of Stanley, Va. He is survived by his wife, Wanda Presgraves Weakley; his son, Jonathan J. Weakley and his wife, Geri; two grandchildren, Marshall and Amanda; two sisters, Stella Gray and Amanda Gray of Richmond; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and many nieces, nephews and countless devoted friends who cared deeply for him. He was preceded in death by a brother, Homer Weakley of Stanley, Va. and a sister, Montella Downey of Rochelle, Ill. Mr. Weakley attended Monument Heights Baptist Church and was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a retired counselor with the State Department of Corrections, a member of the Tuckahoe Moose Lodge No. 1163, a former member of the Manchester Moose Lodge No. 699, a member of the Old Dominion Moose Legion No. 148 and a member of the American Legion Post No. 186. The family will receive friends Sunday 3 to 5 p.m. at the Parham Chapel of the Woody Funeral Home, 1771 Parham Road, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday. Interment Greenwood Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Monument Heights Baptist Church, Building Fund, 5716 Monument Avenue, Richmond, Va. 23236.

Wanda and family,

I always enjoyed seeing Robert at the Moose events. He was always so cheerful and friendly. He always spoke to me and asked how I was doing. Your loss is also a great loss to those of us who knew Robert. May the support of those around you help you through these times.
