Ronald Davis Obituary
November 29, 1936 - August 23, 2024
Ronald W. Davis, 87, passed away peacefully at home on August 23, 2024. Ronnie graduated from Hampden-Sydney College and obtained a master's degree from University of Richmond. In addition to his career as a chemist, he was an internationally accomplished musician, playing organ, harpsichord and piano. Ronnie is survived by his partner of 36 years, Jesus Palacios; sister Linda Gilbride; nephew Greg Gilbride (Janell); niece Barbara Gilbride; great niece Riayn Gilbride; and four kitties--Nathan, Coco, Princeton and Mango. He was predeceased by his parents Isaac and Frances Davis and brother-in-law Francis Gilbride. A Celebration Of Life will be held at The Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, 2341 Winterfield Road, Midlothian, VA on October 5, 2024 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Richmond SPCA or your favorite charity.

I have known Ronnie since the 1950s. More recently he has been a Facebook friend. I will miss him terribly, and I will miss his Facebook postings that were full of humor, music, and cats.

Ronnie was a talented organist and choir director at Trinity Methodist Church, Petersburg, VA, in the 1960's. The choir members respected and loved him. In addition to regular Sunday services, he directed numerous special musical performances which filled the sanctuary with followers. My condolences go out to his family and friends.

I´m so sorry to hear of Ron´s passing. I have fond memories of his sense of humor when he was director of music at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in the 1990´s. I am forever grateful to Ron for teaching my daughters to sing before they could read. God rest his beautiful soul. -Joanne Simpson (mom of Renee & Corinne Jacob)

Ron was a wonderful organist and choir director when I sang in the Church of Redeemer choir. I will never forget the beautiful "Ave Maria" he played at my daughter´s wedding. RIP, my friend.
