I am so sorry for the loss of your dear Sam. I have fond memories going back to Jefferson High School in Roanoke of his friendly and quiet manner.

Sam Hall was one of my best friends. We were Marines stationed in Okinawa back in the late 50's. We played rugby for the Richmond RFC in the 60's and stayed with the game for more than 50 years as referees and administrators. We were born just two weeks apart and celebrated birthdays for many years at John Fleming's Rose Marie Inn. I am shocked and saddened to learn that he has passed away. I will miss him very much. My sincere condolences to Joan and the family.
