Sarah Farmer Obituary
November 8, 1934 - August 6, 2024
Ginny was born on November 8, 1934, in Orange, VA. She passed away peacefully on August 6, 2024, at her home in Powhatan, VA. She was a spunky individual, a friend to all she met and had a contagious laugh that brought joy to those around her. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Virginia graduated from John Marshall High School in 1954 and later married the love of her life, Stuart Farmer in 1956. She dedicated 30 years of service to Deluxe Check Printers retiring in 1993. She was an active member of Graceland Baptist Church where she formed many cherished relationships. Virginia is preceded in death by her husband, Stuart Watson Farmer; her son, Stuart Watson Farmer, Jr. "Dinks"; her parents, Howard and Azile Singleton; brother, Howard Singleton, Jr.; sisters, Emily Conway, Bunnie Tribble, Mariah Melton and Dorcus Ann Bosher. She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Marie Farmer Scott (Lewis); daughter-in-law, Linda Kvasnicka Farmer; grandchildren, Matthew Farmer (Marsha), Christopher Farmer (Melissa), Elizabeth Farmer Champ (Ben), Andrew Toibin, Kaitlyn Toibin, Cody Scott; and five great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at Graceland Baptist Church, 975 Dorset Road, Powhatan, VA. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. and service will follow at 3 p.m., with fellowship and food immediately after the service. It was Virginia's request to be cremated and buried beside her beloved husband, Stuart, with a private graveside service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Graceland Baptist Church or American Heart Association. Virginia's warmth, laughter, and kind spirit will be missed by all who knew her.
