Stephen Inge Obituary

INGE, Stephen A., was born at St. Mary's Hospital in Richmond, Va. on September 22, 1979. Stephen fought a brave battle against Von Hippel-Lindau (VHL) disease, including brain and spinal surgeries and lengthy hospital stays. Stephen passed away in his sleep in his home in Arlington, Va. on May 2, 2021. Stephen was a compassionate person who fought his battle unwearied, with grace and courage. He blessed friends and family with his humor, and love for sports and music. Stephen was deeply loved and is survived by family across the mid-Atlantic: his mother, Jane Negrey Inge; aunt, Helen Long; uncle, Stephen Negrey in Arlington, Va.; his father, Barclay Inge (wife, Victoria); sister, Emily Hein (husband, John); brother, Ryan Inge (wife, Candace); nephews, Wyatt Hein, Reed Hein and Bowers Inge; aunts, Susan and Mo Hancock; as well as a host of cousins in Richmond, Va.; stepbrother, Sayon (wife, Melissa); and stepsister, Metta Bastet. A memorial will be held in Arlington, Va. at the Knights of Columbus Facility on May 15 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the VHL Alliance, vhl.org.
