Anna Haverluk Obituary

Anna (Ann) Haverluk, age 96 of Fort Collins, Colorado died September 7, 2025, at Morning Star Senior Living in Old Town Fort Collins. Funeral services were held in Fort Collins, CO. Interment will be held Tuesday September 23, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. with her husband, Sam, in the North Dakota Veteran's Cemetery in Mandan, ND.

Anna Schmaltz was born March 3, 1929, in Hettinger, North Dakota to Margaret (Fix) and Christ Schmaltz. She attended Chandler Consolidated School and graduated from Hettinger High School. She also graduated from Capitol Commercial College at Bismarck.

Ann was employed by the Corps of Engineers, General Services Administration, and retired from USDA as an administrative assistant.

On April 29, 1957, she married Sam Haverluk at St. Mary's Church in Bismarck. After their respective careers, they retired in Fort Collins in 1992, and Sam passed away January 4, 2002.

She enjoyed volunteering during her years in Fort Collins. Ann was a greeter at the 4 o'clock Mass for many years at St. Joseph's. Always a smiling face to greet those attending. She was also active in Fort Collins Newcomers Club and was a Charter Member of the Newcomers Alumni Association.

Ann is survived by her nephew, Michael Martin of Lakewood, Illinois and her niece, Patricia Martin Novak of Albuquerque, NM. She is also survived a sister-in-law, Olga Reiter of West Fargo, ND.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam; brother, John Schmaltz; her sisters, Theresa Kemper and Marian Martin; and sister-in-law Betty Senchuk.

The family suggests that any memorial donations please be made to North Dakota Veterans Cemetery Foundation 1825 46th Street Mandan, ND 58554-9943.
