Mrs. Hillery was so kind to me as a high school teenager when I had the pleasure of meeting her through her son, Nathan. I gather early on she instilled the spirit of volunteering in Nathan, as we spent many fun times with mutual friends volunteering at the Virginia Museum Youth Guild. Many wonderful volunteers have come from that group such as Troy Wolfe and his sister Tracy Wolfe who have gone on to inspire others in the country and world! Mrs. Hillery, was loved locally by her students in the Henrico area, and our group of mutual friends as well were thankful for all she did to help us and the community. We were grateful to have Nathan as our friend throughout high school. My deepest and most sincere condolences to you Nathan and all your family, your friends, and everyone else that your mom's life has touched, for your loss. She was a blessing every day and I know you and everyone in her life will miss her so much. Your mom always loved you so very much and all your family and humanity, as she always has shown by example, through her life of actions. She will smile upon us all now from her place above where she may continue to love the world she was such a part. Again, my deepest sympathies to all who knew and cared about Mrs. Hillery. With love always, Janet L. Ziolkowski, (Nathan's High school friend from DSFreeman and volunteer of the Virginia Museum Youth Guild.)

So sorry to hear of Susie's passing. I taught with her at Three Chopt Elementary School in Henrico County in the early 1970s. She was a remarkable educator and always had a positive and happy nature. My condolences to her family.
